“Private beach access” is a dedicated route we have provided in the form of a stairway, that lets our guests reach the Varkala beach sands directly from the cliff-top – without using public roads or paths.
The access to the beach directly from our resort is private. The beach is not private. However, the south-cliff beach, where we are located, is mostly very secluded and makes it look like it is indeed private.
It is safe for adults to swim on stretches where lifeguards and signs of “Child-Friendly Zone” are seen. Many stretches are calm and safe during peak season (Oct – Mar), but strong currents and high tides do occur sometimes.
Direct private access to beach is open from 7 am – 7 pm. Access may be restricted during monsoon season or inclement weather, to comply with the directives of the local authorities/government.
